Mission statement of the Haitian Foundation of New Jersey (HFNJ)

At the Haitian Foundation of New Jersey our mission is to provide information, promote awareness, and empower the Community at large and the Haitian Community in particular. While promoting awareness by providing information, workshops, and trainings, we also strive to deepen the community’s commitment to pro-social values such as willingness to work together, personal responsibility, and respect for others- qualities we believe are essential to leading to a stronger community.

The Haitian Foundation of New Jersey is a community center in New Jersey, established to address the concerns of the community at large and the Haitian Community in particular. Members of this foundation represent various religious, professional, social, fraternal, educational, woman, youth, and senior citizen groups throughout the Garden State.

The purpose of the HFNJ is:

  • To discuss critical issues affecting the Haitian community

  • To provide a regular exchange of information among the leaders of the different groups

  • To empower the Haitian community through seminars and trainings

  • To provide opportunities and resources to meet the needs of the Haitian community in their native language

  • To work in unison with local, state, and national agencies that are performing functions to assist in the areas  of education, economic development, social and job replacement needs

The Haitian Foundation of New Jersey HQ in Willingboro NJ, has pledged any aid it receives to help communities hit by Tuesday's earthquake in Haiti, and is prepared to take further action as local contact to assess the situation.
